Spiral Staircase Wells
Case Study Model 76
Our client was renovating a chapel into a home and required a very high spiral staircase to access the mezz deck high in the eaves. A light and open approach was required and we suggested our model 76 spiral staircase with glass treads and stainless balustrade.
This model ticked all the boxes and an order was forthcoming. A spiral of this height does come with some additional consideration however.
The weight of the spiral (especially with glass treads) needs to be spread with an enlarged based plate. This base plate was supplied earlier that the rest of the stairs o the fitters could embed it in the solid foundations.
To prevent any wobble, we also designed some subtle bracing bars hallway up to fix to the adjacent wall.
We also supply some matching landing balustrade around the opening and some glass balustrade across the front.
The pictures were spectacular!!
Church Spiral Staircase
The model 76 spiral staircase is made to measure. Each model supplied is unique to the setting with the height, width and materials specified before production.
Our client on this project selected the horizontal stainless steel rails but vertical stainless spindles are also available as are curved acrylic or glass panels.
This model was a 1500mm diameter but this model can be produced up to 2200mm in diameter meaning it is suitable as the main stair in a house.

Comment on Spiral Staircase Wells – Model 76 from Complete Stair Systems
"Given the height of the spiral, this took a while to design. It has 21 risers in total which is a lot of weight considering they are glass treads. The end result was magnificent "
