Bespoke Timber Staircase Sevenoaks
Our client was renovating a property in Sevenoaks, Kent. The hallway needed a modern open staircase which also had an element of solid timber. Our WF modern timber staircase was the perfect solution with treads cantilevering from the wall in solid oak. The handrail on the WF stair is specially designed to take the load from the treads, removing the requirement for a stringer on the ‘open’ side. This, along with the open risers results in a floating feel to the staircase. Our customer decided on a curved handrail at the internal turn which adds a ‘swoop’ to the turn and looks stunning.
WF Style Timber Staircase
The WF staircase is our most open, floating bespoke timber staircase. It has no stringer to the internal side so the treads appear to hover in mid air allowing the light to pass through. This works with a specially designed handrail that has a steel core. The spindles screw up into this handrail and the treads ‘load’ is therefore transferred to the handrail then to the newels top and bottom. The WF is available as a straight flight, quarter turn or half turn depending on the location of walls.
