Floating Staircase Sevenoaks
Sevenoaks, an affluent commuter town in Kent, has been the focus of many domestic refurbishments and self-builds over the past few years. It is a very popular location for our staircases. This client was gutting and extending her four-bedroom house and required a new staircase in the reconfigured hallway.
The required staircase needed to be open and light to maximize the spacious feel of the hallway. The WF floating timber staircase was selected from our range with its unique design. The WF only has a stringer down the wall side of the stair, with the steps on the open side supported by a specially designed handrail. The lack of stringer on the open side, combined with the open risers, creates a very light and transparent feel to the flight.
This model was supplied with solid oak treads, handrail, and stringer formed in a 1/4 turn with 14 risers. Our client opted for the curved handrail to the inner corner to add a nice sweeping effect. The brushed stainless steel spindles provided protection to the stair, and this was continued around the opening upstairs.
Once the conversion and extension were complete, our client sent us a few snaps of the finished result.
If you would like a cost for a similar floating-style staircase, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
