August 2023 – Outdoor Spiral Staircase Bath

Three custom made outdoor spiral stairs were supplied to a property developer constructing three new dwellings in Bath.  Each spiral  provided access from a first floor balcony to the garden below.

Each spiral was a supplied fully galvanised with non slip perforated steel plate treads, a steel handrail and vertical steel spindles.   As the balcony was formed by others instead of the usual top platform we welded two flanges to the centre column to bolt directly to the existing structure.

The spirals were formed with 14 risers with a 1800mm diameter with a sufficient clear tread width to comply as a main domestic staircase.  Each tread plate was slightly raised to ensure the gap between each tread was less than 100mm.

Our outdoor spiral staircases are a very cost effective solution when accessing a rear garden.  Full drawings are prepared for each spiral to check entry and exit points work correctly and that the headroom is sufficient.  There a number of tread types to choose from and the galvanised finish can be powder coated any colour if desired.
