Bespoke Timber Staircase Botley

Our customer was a property developer building his own house in the town of Botley, near Southampton. What was required in the large hallway was a feature staircase that enticed you upstairs. It also had to be light and open in appearance but manufactured in solid timber. Together, we decided upon the WF open floating timber staircase which we supplied in Oak parquet. This system has open risers and no stringer on the exposed side meaning the treads float from the wall. There was a further 2m of landing balustrade upstairs which we supplied with matching timber posts and handrail and glass panels with stainless clamps. A light and open staircase manufactured in solid oak.

Straight Flight Floating Timber Stair

The WF staircase is our most open, floating bespoke timber staircase.  It has no stringer to the internal side so the treads appear to hover in mid air allowing the light to pass through.  This works with a specially designed handrail that has a steel core.  The spindles screw up into this handrail and the treads ‘load’ is therefore transferred to the handrail then to the newels top and bottom.  The WF is available as a straight flight, quarter turn or half turn depending on the location of walls.
