Spiral Staircase and Staircase News

As we have been neglecting our news section for a little while we have built up a back log of recently completed staircase pictures to display.Ā  From now on we will try to put up at least one a week.

Ā

Starting with this model 71 spiral which was installed in Yorkshire at the end of last year.Ā  The customer was renovating an annex and required access to a mezzanine level in the roof.Ā  A spiral was the only real optionĀ  as the exit point upstairs had to be directly under the apex of the roof.

The diameter of this model was 1600mm and it was spanning a floor to floor height of just over 2600mm.Ā  The model 71 spiral always has a stainless centre column and spindles and on this occasion our customer selected beechwood treads which were stained ā€˜walnut’ in the factory.Ā  Along with the spiral, 4.5m of matching landing balustrade was supplied for installation across the front of the mezz deck.

The model 71 is a bespoke spiral staircase.Ā  It is available in diameters up to 2.4m and can be manufactured with a variety of timber treads – Oak, Ash, Maple, Beech and Larch. The newel posts and handrail are either timber to match the treads or stainless steel (click to view picture of this option).
